Florals in Winter

Okay not gonna lie, I practically froze to death while taking these photos. It has been freezing cold here in the Washington DC area which makes me want to just cuddle up in bed and do absolutely nothing at all. However, I've had some cute Fall/Winter outfits that I've been wanting to wear out and I finally have been able to get the chance to. Winter florals are a huge trend this year and they come in all different color ways. The most popular ones have been florals on a black backdrop to darken the style. I loved this dress in particular because of that reason, plus it's loose and comfy which is perfect for all those holiday dinners you might be going to (and all those yummy gingerbread cookies you'll be eating).

I've been loving the Gucci belt trend, but definitely can't afford one for myself. So I improvised with this gold buckle one from Primark for $5! Since the dress is so loose, I felt I really needed some definition in my waste to not look like a potato (lol). I also thought this cabby hat would be the perfect accessory since it creates a bit of a Parisian vibe.

Feeling Festive

Holiday season is finally here. That means ice skating, hot cocoa, Christmas movies, and of course festive outfits! During Black Friday, I did not do too much shopping but I did head into H&M to see if they had any good deals going on. I was eyeing a particular sweater there that was originally $20. Went I went in, there was a whole rack of them on sale for $5! I ended up purchasing it in two different colors and I decided to style up the green one last night since I was going out for some dinner. My best friend Imaan and I decided to go grab some Thai food (our fave), so I wanted to have a bit of an edgy vibe with this look which is why I went with these simple black skinny jeans and black heeled booties. As for accessories, I wore these chandelier earrings to add some glam to the look, as well as my gold watch. I kept it simple with my Tory Burch cross-body to keep the focus on the sweater.

We actually ended up going to MGM after dinner because there was a bakery there we have been dying to try out which is called Bellagio Patisserie. I decided to try out their Tiramisu while Imaan tried out one of their Macaroons and Black Forest cake. While we were walking around the MGM resort, we saw these huge and gorgeous holiday decorations that we just had to take pictures in front of. I felt that it went perfectly with my look as well as hers.

I can't wait to post more festive looks for you guys throughout this month!

Imaan's gorgeous look for the night!

I tried the Pad Mee. SO good!

The yummy treats at Bellagio's!

These are the gorgeous decorations we stumbled upon!

Taste The Rainbow

Yes, I did feel like a box of Skittles candy in this outfit today, and I loved every bit of it. I have been trying to branch out with my style and try out new things including different patterned sweaters and graphic tees. I found this cute rainbow striped sweater at Forever 21. I have steered away from Forever 21 for quite some time now because I wasn't loving the items they were selling and the quality wasn't the best either. But recently they have come out with some awesome and very affordable items! This look was very inspired by a blogger named Megan Ellaby who has some amazing outfits on her website which is meganellaby.com.

I love her style because it's very quirky and different from anything else I've seen out there. To give the sweater a more edgy vibe, I added mom jeans. These jeans reminded me a lot of a pair of mom jeans I found at Madewell. However these jeans were $30 instead of over $100! I also purchased these booties from Charlotte Russe which were on sale for $20! These places are also great for when you need to purchase gifts for friends and family during the holiday season.

Shining in Chiffon

I have a bit of a girly outfit in today's look. This gorgeous blush pink sweater with chiffon bows is probably one of the softest sweaters I own and it was only $20 from TJ Maxx! I feel like I'm always raving about this place but you can find some amazing things here for such good prices. Definitely a college girl friendly store. I typically don't wear light colors in the Fall and Winter season but I thought this blush sweater would go perfect with some white jeans. To make it more appropriate for the cold, I wore these over the knee boots from Charlotte Russe. This outfit is perfect for grabbing lunch with some friends and can even be worn to school because it's so comfortable and cozy too.

Let me know if you all would like a Black Friday shopping guide these year or a Holiday gift guide, I would love to scout out some good deals for you guys!

Orange Overalls

Okay, so the weather in the D.C. area has taken a 180 and it's now freezing cold here! But I'm actually loving this weather because now I'm able to layer up in comfy clothing and feel cozy and warm. I have especially loved layering with turtle neck sweaters, and the awesome thing is that you can find these sweaters just about anywhere including thrift stores which is where I found mine. But the main part of this look is this gorgeous overall dress from Free People. I have never been one to go for something like this but it was such a fun and different look for me to try out. I got this dress on sale from Macy's when it is still full price on the Free People website. I highly recommend that you guys go onto Macy's or Belk's website if you love Free People but want to score a good deal on their items. I have purchased most of their items from either Macy's, Bloomingdales or TJ Maxx because it is always way more affordable that way.

To make this look a bit more trendy, I decided to wear my trusty over the knee boots and this Cabby/Conductor/Baker Boy hat (whatever you want to call it LOL). These hats have been just about everywhere recently and I think it adds a fun edge to your look. Of course to make this look a bit more modest (and also warmer), I wore these black stockings which can be found just about anywhere. I did feel a bit out of my comfort zone with this outfit just because I hadn't ever tried anything like this before, but I'm so glad I did. Guys, don't ever be afraid to try out something new just because it is a bit out of your comfort zone. You'll be surprised of how it turns out in the end. To top it all off, I wore my Tory Burch purse and my favorite ring set also from Free People.

I would love for you all to let me know what you think of this outfit in the comment section below!

Flirty Skirts

People think that skirts are only really worn during the Spring and Winter seasons, but they can definitely be worn in the colder as well. Maxi skirts are the perfect way to go because they cover you up and you can also wear leggings underneath for extra warmth. The best part is that a ton of these kinds of skirts are on sale right now from the Summer time! Black and white is a classic color-way in just about everything, so I thought this polka dot one was perfect and I bought it for $12 on sale from H&M! I definitely recommend digging through the sale section every now and then because you can find some great steals.

I wanted to add a few current trends to this skirt so I decided to wear this cream turtleneck sweater as well as this gold buckle belt. This belt really reminded me of a Gucci belt which has been seen just about everywhere in the blogger community. I also wore this lieutenant styled hat to edge up the outfit a bit. As for my boots, I found the best Chloe dupes from Forever 21 last year which I actually got off of Poshmark. I really recommend you guys to try out thrift apps such as this one because it's so easy to be able to try and find what you're looking for. I hope you all enjoy this look!

Finally Fall!

Yes, according to the calendar Fall started a few weeks ago but it is finally starting to feel like it here in the D.C. area! I have been feeling so uninspired lately with my wardrobe because it's hard for me to decide what to wear during the transition weather. But I'm so excited to finally be wearing some more seasonally appropriate clothing. Fall is my most favorite season out of the year because of the beautiful colors surrounded everywhere. And on top of that being able to layer clothing items which is my favorite thing to do.

Guys, you HAVE to go to your local TJMaxx if you have the chance to soon because they have some amazing items in there right now! I got this gorgeous Free People dress from there and this dress is still listed as full price on Free People's website. You can find other amazing brands as well such as Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Franco Sarto... you name it! Most of the items are no more than $30 but you really have to dig in to find the good deals.

I love loose and flowy dresses (especially during that time of the month) LOL but they are also just a super comfortable item to have in your closet. I dressed up this flowy item with these over the knee boots from Charlotte Russe. As for accessories, I found this cute purse also from TJMaxx which I thought went perfectly with the boots. For my necklace, I wanted to go with something fun but simple so I paired this layered pendant necklace and of course my favorite watch. You can also easily dress down this look by pairing some booties instead, ditching the necklace and wearing a cross-body purse. This has definitely been one of my coziest outfits for Fall as of yet.

Too Hot (Outside) For Fall

Okay, I have no idea what is up with the weather here in the Washington DC area but it was 85 degrees yesterday! We are all ready for Fall now dang-it! (inserts crying emoji). Okay but seriously, hopefully this weather cools down soon so that I can start wearing more fun looks for you guys. As for today's outfit, I did try to incorporate some Fall colors into my look and thankfully I wasn't dying from the heat (kind of). Mustard yellow is always a go to color for this season and it's strange because I was never much of a yellow person up until this year. However I have been seeing it everywhere since the Summer season and I think it's such a fun pop of color. I also found these fun floral pants to go with the shirt because the yellow flowers tied in really well with the look. These pants are a great transitional item to have because they are airy enough for the warmer days of the season but you can also pair them with a sweater and some flats for the cooler months.

I have been seeing slingback heels just about everywhere lately and I happened to find an amazing pair at my local thrift store for about $10! These shoes have been running for $100 and up in the market so I was very excited about this find. I thought these shoes went perfectly with the pants and they dressed up the outfit very nicely. As for my bag, there was already so much color going on so I wanted to make sure to wear a more neutral color for this. And to make the look more "Fall" (lol) I decided to wear a dark red lip. I thought it contrasted perfectly with the sweater and it went well with the red flowers in the pants. Guys, lip colors are an amazing accessory with your outfit too so never be afraid to try out new colors! I hope you all love this look!

The Primaries

No, I'm not talking about an election. But primary colors are a huge trend this year. Bright reds, blues and yellows are all the rage and I wanted to be able to try out this fun look for myself. I actually found this bright red kimono at a local thrift store and I thought it was just perfect for the look I was going for. The weather is finally starting to begin to cool down here so kimonos and shawls are a must now. I definitely recommend you all to go to your local thrift store if you want to try out the primary color trend because there is just so much to choose from.

I apologize for the short read but I hope you enjoy the look!
