Stripes & Lemons

After a whole week of rain, we have finally gotten some sun back in the Washington D.C. area! I have been obsessed with midi skirts and dresses lately as you can tell by my previous blog posts and they have been everywhere this season. I have been loving adding some preppy vibes to my outfits lately. Although I am not one to absolutely love a super preppy look like I used to, adding some little elements is always fun to do. Neck scarves are also a great accessory to add to your look during the Spring and Summer months. I have seen so many fun prints lately in neck scarves including this lemon print one from J Crew. J Crew has been killing it this season with all their fun and quirky pieces. The lemon print is definitely one I see that will be used all throughout the next few months and I am definitely on board with this fun trend!

I have noticed that the Cult Gaia bamboo has been popping up everywhere, but it is a bit out of my price range. I knew I wanted a fun straw bag to try out because I have seen many other bloggers with these kinds of bags. Luckily, I found a very affordable one from DOEN and it was under $40! I am already obsessed with this bag and I plan on using it with lots of future outfits.

Hello, Yellow!

Hey there fashionistas. So, I decided to try out something a little different today. I decided to wear yellow! Now, I have never been one to gear towards the color yellow but it has been the it color this season and I knew I had to try out this trend myself. I knew I didn't want to wear a neon yellow or even a bright tone either. I wanted to find a more muted version of this color and I found the perfect option from Madewell. This side button midi skirt has been selling out like crazy ever since it came out and I think what's so unique about this skirt are the many ways you are able to wear it. You can unbutton the sides to make a slit, you can unbutton one side and tie the skirt in a knot, or you can just leave it as it is and have a beautiful bohemian looking midi skirt.

I decided to go for a more classic look with this outfit. Since I wanted the skirt to be the statement piece, I ended up pairing it with this white tie blouse from Francesca's. For my shoes, I decided to go for these cute little loafer flats from the JCrew Factory. I have been seeing this style of flats everywhere lately but I knew I didn't want to end up paying a ton for them. I ended up paying about $35 for these which is a pretty good deal! As for jewelry, I thought it would be fun to wear a bit of color. So, I decided to wear these absolutely gorgeous tassel earrings from Kendra Scott as well as this turquoise bracelet also from Kendra Scott. To top it all off, I wore my favorite satchel purse to tie the look together.

Scalloped Hems

Happy Tuesday everyone! The weather has been in our favor here in the DC area which means I can finally bring out some of my new dresses and skirts. Midi dresses and skirts have been a huge trend this season and as a modest fashion blogger, this is totally up my ally. Banana Republic has a great selection of midi dresses right now including this classic shirt dress. What I love with this dress in particular are the cute scallops on the sleeves as well as at the hem. It gives a great twist to what would have been a more-so plain dress. This dress also has pockets which was definitely one of the reasons why I also bought it. Is is also  currently 40% off and Banana Republic is always doing amazing discounts and deals both in stores and online!

I decided to pair my favorite straw pom pom clutch with this outfit to add some colors. I also decided to add these fun tassel earrings from Francesca's which are a great dupe for the Kate Spade tassel earrings that have been trending right now. I hope you all enjoy the weather today no matter where you are!

    Blushing in Blossoms

For the longest time, I always wanted to be able to go see the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. Although I live right by D.C. I never got a chance to experience the beautiful blossoms. My friend Helena, who is also a very talented photographer and I decided to go roam around D.C. for the day to check out these gorgeous flowers. The weather was perfect and we had so much fun walking around and exploring. After we walked around the blossoms for a bit, we decided to head to Georgetown for some lunch and little shopping. Georgetown is known for its beautiful houses that are always put together and decorated so well. While walking around and looking at these beautiful homes, we came across this gorgeous little garden with all kinds of flowers. I have always loved the Spring season for the beautiful flowers and plants it offers.

As for my outfit, I decided to wear this adorable blush colored shirt from Zara. The unique thing about this shirt is that the sleeves have faux fur cuffs at the end. How cute is that?! I wanted to go for more of a classy vibe with this outfit so I wore these white dress pants with these gorgeous floral block heels from Asos. As for my bag and jewelry, I wore this sophisticated satchel purse from Etienne Aigner as well as this Kendra Scott necklace & ring, and my Michael Kors watch.

All photos were taken by the beautiful Helena Tewolde and you can check out her photography blog by clicking here!
