Flirty Skirts

People think that skirts are only really worn during the Spring and Winter seasons, but they can definitely be worn in the colder as well. Maxi skirts are the perfect way to go because they cover you up and you can also wear leggings underneath for extra warmth. The best part is that a ton of these kinds of skirts are on sale right now from the Summer time! Black and white is a classic color-way in just about everything, so I thought this polka dot one was perfect and I bought it for $12 on sale from H&M! I definitely recommend digging through the sale section every now and then because you can find some great steals.

I wanted to add a few current trends to this skirt so I decided to wear this cream turtleneck sweater as well as this gold buckle belt. This belt really reminded me of a Gucci belt which has been seen just about everywhere in the blogger community. I also wore this lieutenant styled hat to edge up the outfit a bit. As for my boots, I found the best Chloe dupes from Forever 21 last year which I actually got off of Poshmark. I really recommend you guys to try out thrift apps such as this one because it's so easy to be able to try and find what you're looking for. I hope you all enjoy this look!

Finally Fall!

Yes, according to the calendar Fall started a few weeks ago but it is finally starting to feel like it here in the D.C. area! I have been feeling so uninspired lately with my wardrobe because it's hard for me to decide what to wear during the transition weather. But I'm so excited to finally be wearing some more seasonally appropriate clothing. Fall is my most favorite season out of the year because of the beautiful colors surrounded everywhere. And on top of that being able to layer clothing items which is my favorite thing to do.

Guys, you HAVE to go to your local TJMaxx if you have the chance to soon because they have some amazing items in there right now! I got this gorgeous Free People dress from there and this dress is still listed as full price on Free People's website. You can find other amazing brands as well such as Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Franco Sarto... you name it! Most of the items are no more than $30 but you really have to dig in to find the good deals.

I love loose and flowy dresses (especially during that time of the month) LOL but they are also just a super comfortable item to have in your closet. I dressed up this flowy item with these over the knee boots from Charlotte Russe. As for accessories, I found this cute purse also from TJMaxx which I thought went perfectly with the boots. For my necklace, I wanted to go with something fun but simple so I paired this layered pendant necklace and of course my favorite watch. You can also easily dress down this look by pairing some booties instead, ditching the necklace and wearing a cross-body purse. This has definitely been one of my coziest outfits for Fall as of yet.

Too Hot (Outside) For Fall

Okay, I have no idea what is up with the weather here in the Washington DC area but it was 85 degrees yesterday! We are all ready for Fall now dang-it! (inserts crying emoji). Okay but seriously, hopefully this weather cools down soon so that I can start wearing more fun looks for you guys. As for today's outfit, I did try to incorporate some Fall colors into my look and thankfully I wasn't dying from the heat (kind of). Mustard yellow is always a go to color for this season and it's strange because I was never much of a yellow person up until this year. However I have been seeing it everywhere since the Summer season and I think it's such a fun pop of color. I also found these fun floral pants to go with the shirt because the yellow flowers tied in really well with the look. These pants are a great transitional item to have because they are airy enough for the warmer days of the season but you can also pair them with a sweater and some flats for the cooler months.

I have been seeing slingback heels just about everywhere lately and I happened to find an amazing pair at my local thrift store for about $10! These shoes have been running for $100 and up in the market so I was very excited about this find. I thought these shoes went perfectly with the pants and they dressed up the outfit very nicely. As for my bag, there was already so much color going on so I wanted to make sure to wear a more neutral color for this. And to make the look more "Fall" (lol) I decided to wear a dark red lip. I thought it contrasted perfectly with the sweater and it went well with the red flowers in the pants. Guys, lip colors are an amazing accessory with your outfit too so never be afraid to try out new colors! I hope you all love this look!
