Living in Leopard

I always have a hard time figuring out what to wear during the Winter season. I'd have to say, it's my least favorite time of the year because it's super cold and there isn't much inspiration in fashion during this time besides holiday wear. When I think of Winter, I usually think of darker and more muted colors and although I love to wear more colorful pieces, I do enjoy wearing some neutrals from time to time. Leopard print has been a huge trend this season, and it was actually one of my most favorite prints to wear when I was in high school. Back then, it only really came out in dresses and blouses but now you can literally find this print in just about anything including pants, skirts, hats, scarves, shoes and purses. The best part is that it can be styled in a ton of different ways because it is still a neutral color palette.

For my look, I wanted to go for something a bit more tones down which is why I opted for a mostly black ensemble. I don't think that anyone can ever go wrong with a simple black mock neck top. These tops can go with just about anything and can be a layering piece with cardigans, sweaters, and other tops as well. I haven't seen as many people wearing berets this season, but I am still loving wearing hats with my looks. I purchased these ankle boots last Winter after the holiday season was over for about $9 and they are still being worn all around this season. The best part is that they are actually super comfortable to walk in! As for accessories, I went with my favorite statement bag from Zara and my trusty gold jewelry to finish off the look.

Vividly Vintage

The vintage style has been popping up just about everywhere these past few seasons. Tops, dresses, and jumpsuits have been coming out with cute wooden button details which I have been loving. The best part is, you can find this look just about anywhere now and you don't have to pay a ton to get the vintage look. Of course, going to a thrift store would be your best bet on finding authentic vintage pieces. But, if you're looking for items that are more modern but have a vintage feel then this would be the perfect look for you.

I found this adorable jumpsuit at Papaya, yes Papaya! I haven't shopped at this store since I was in high school but they are making a great comeback. This jumpsuit was $25 and it reminded me of something you would find at Reformation or Free People but for a fraction of the price. I wanted to dress up this jumpsuit, so I decided to wear these red boots with it and black accessories. I purchased this cabby hat last Fall and it is still going strong this year as well. Cabby hats also give a quirky and vintage vibe to an outfit and they can be found just about anywhere these days.

This outfit would be perfect for a fancier Thanksgiving party which is where I wore it to. To make it more evening appropriate, I wore my black Tory Burch cross-body and my gold watch. I also wore dark red lips to match the rest of my look. This has definitely been one of my favorite Fall looks this year so far.

Chenille from Charlotte

T'is the season of comfy sweaters! Fall is my favorite season just for this reason because I get to cuddle up in big chunky sweaters and cardigans and basically feel like i'm in pj's everyday. This year, sweaters have been coming out in all shapes, colors, and fabrics. My favorite type this year have been chenille sweaters. Chenille is a gorgeous soft and velvet feeling fabric that gives sweaters a luxurious look. The best thing is, chenille sweaters are available at a ton of different places for very affordable prices.

The one that I'm wearing here is from Charlotte Russe and it's only $25. I've been shopping at Charlotte Russe ever since I was 13 years old and I love all the trendy items that they have for such affordable prices. This sweater also comes in a ton of different colors but I decided to go with this burnt orange color for the Fall season. This outfit is also the perfect look for a casual Thanksgiving dinner because the black booties help to dress up the look. Also, instead of wearing a light lip color you can opt for a darker burgundy to be a bit more festive.

Thank you to Charlotte Russe for helping me create this fun post!

Statement Boots

The leaves have finally started to change color and it’s really been inspiring my fashion again! Statement boots have been a huge trend this season and I have purchased a few of my own, including these red ones. You’d think red boots may be hard to style, but I’ve been able to pair them with a ton of different looks and they always make an outfit pop. For this look, I decided to wear this boho styled midi dress from Forever 21 which has some floral embroidery details on it, including some red flowers. I thought this dress looked a lot like something you would find at Free People which is why I love it so much, I have been finding many Free People dupes at Forever 21 lately and this is especially great for people who want to go for the bohemian look, but can't always pay the Free People price tag.

An Autumn Kimono

The first day of Fall is only 2 days away and I am so excited! Although Fall is starting soon, it is still SUPER hot here. So to combat this and still be able to wear some Fall items I brought out the trusty kimono. Kimonos are perfect layering pieces during seasonal transitions because they are lightweight, but still add some warmth on those cooler days. You can get a kimono from just about anywhere but what I loved about this one is that it is a maxi kimono (even though I'm too short for it). Even though I'm just wearing a tee shirt and jeans, putting this kimono on made a huge difference in my look and made it more Fall appropriate.

Now, let's talk about these awesome shoes. If you're a big Free People fan, you'll recognize these shoes as a best seller on FP's website. However, those shoes are about $200 and WAY out of my price range. So I decided to go on a hunt for a cute dupe and I found these at Tilly's for just $20 with a coupon I used! And honestly, they are even cuter than the FP one's because of the stitching details on the shoe. Target also sells the exact same pair as the one's on the FP website in different colors. You can click here to check them out!

As for other accessories, I went with this cute hat western styled hat from Uniqlo and my (overly used) saddle cross-body bag. I hope you liked this Fall transition look and I can't wait to post even more Fall looks in the future!

23

Wow... It's truly been a really long time guys! I'm not sure how to even start this. Well, today is my birthday and I thought why not make this post today?

I ended up taking a (very) unexpected break from blogging these past few months and honestly, it was the best thing I could do for myself. These past few months I went through an extreme self reflection of myself, who I am, who I want to be, where I want to go in life. I had been going through many of these personal battles with myself and it honestly pushed my blogging to the side. It wasn't my priority anymore, simply because I didn't want it to be. Don't get me wrong, my love for fashion will never die. However, social media started to take over me and I wasn't happy anymore. I wasn't happy with what I was posting, and I wasn't happy having to constantly worry about when to create a new post, when to wear a certain outfit, how to increase my engagement, etc. It just didn't feel like me anymore. My inspiration wasn't there anymore and I just knew it was time to take a step back.

During these past few months, I decided to be more selfish and focus more on me and my personal happiness. I hung out with friends more, travelled more, and tried many new things. It really helped me figure out, well, me.

I want to also thank those who have still stuck around to watch not only my blog grow, but watch me grow as well. Without you guys, I wouldn't have been able to have the opportunities I have today! I am now ready and excited to get back into blogging and fashion, but taking a different approach and always putting myself beforehand. I'm so excited to show you guys the new ideas I will have in store and I hope you stick around to see it all as well.

Much Love,
Rabia

Instagram Outfit Roundup!

I've been posting a ton of my outfits on my Instagram lately so I thought I'd try something new on the blog and do an Instagram roundup series! I love when other bloggers do this as a recap of where they've purchased their recent outfits, so I thought I'd give it a try myself. I have had a pretty busy past week and a half with work, family get togethers and also making time to go out with my friends. This gave me the perfect excuse to be able to dress up a bit more than usual! Here are details of all the outfits I wore in the past week.

Miami! Part I

I had the amazing opportunity to be able to go on a small trip to Miami! I had never been there before but I had always wanted to go because of all the amazing things I heard about it. Although it was a very short trip, it was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back again! Once we got off the airport, we left for our hotel. We stayed at the cutest place called the Whitelaw Hotel. It was on the street right behind the road with the beach. We were so worried that the weather would be gloomy, but it ended up being so sunny and beautiful!

I had such a great photoshoot my first day there with a photographer named Annabel Mejia. You can check out her work by clicking here!

Afterwards, we went to eat at a delicious Cuban restaurant called Puerto Sagua. I got a delicious shrimp dish and then for dessert, tres leches. Guys, the tres leches here in the DC area does not even compare to the one there! I dream about it all the time LOL.

We finally got to the beach and it was so beautiful and calm to just be able to sit and relax there.

As for my outfit, I wanted to go with something "beachy". I kept picturing wearing a red polka dot dress with these funky white sunglasses and I had finally found the look I was going for! This maxi dress is one of the most comfortable dresses I own and I did not even feel very hot in it because of how airy it is.

I actually had a bit of a malfunction with my sunglasses and bag because I forgot both at home. Fortunately, there were a ton of stores right next to our hotel and I was able to find the same pair of sunglasses to wear with my look. I of course had a to wear one of my straw bags to finish off the look and I love how it turned out overall!

Stay tuned for part 2 of my trip!

A Pop of Pink

Pink is probably one of my staple colors in my wardrobe now. This color looks great on every skin tone and I feel that it gives a nice glow to the face. Madewell recently did an extra 50% off their sale items and I ended up getting this top for $10! (I know right, at Madewell!). Right when I saw this top I immediately knew what kind of look I wanted to go for. These white pants have been going with just about everything in my wardrobe but I especially love how they look with crop tops. For more modest dressers, crop tops are usually a big no no but when teamed with super high waisted loose pants like these, you're able to rock a crop top too!

Since I was going with a pink theme in this look, I wanted to wear these cute pink block heels to balance out the color of the top. I actually got these heels for $20 from Macy's and I have been wearing them non-stop! They are super comfortable and go with everything. Since the weather is warmer, I of course had to pair my fave straw bag to create a more beachy vibe for the look. I topped off my outfit with my favorite earrings and trusty gold watch.

This look would be perfect for brunch with the girls or just hanging out downtown on a sunny day!
