Winter has officially made its mark in the DC area which means it's time to bring out those big Winter coats. Sometimes it can be hard to style clothes during this time of year because we're usually all bundled up trying to prevent ourselves from freezing our butts off. But, you can always style yourself with a statement coat. Statement coats come in a variety of patterns and textures including the oh so popular teddy coats, faux hurt coats, and the classic plaid coats. All of these add some fun to what may be a more plain outfit underneath but the best part is you're still bundled up and ready to face the Winter temperatures.
I've decided to show you a few ways that I have styled my coats thus far from more casual looks to more "going out" looks.
Keepin' It Casual
This outfit is perfect for a day you may be just going out for lunch with a friend or maybe just running some errands. I love wearing very comfy clothes underneath and then adding a fun statement coat on top. This one in particular is from
Chicwish and it is honestly one of the greatest quality coats that I currently own.
Edging It Up
I've been experimenting a lot with adding a bit more edginess to my outfits. Adding a coat always helps with adding some texture to the look. This coat in particular is from Nordstrom but you can find a nice white teddy coat just about anywhere.
Here is a similar one that is super affordable!
Girl's Night
This look is perfect for a Winter girls night out because of these fun maroon lace up boots. I thought this coat added a nice touch to the look because it was a little fancier compared to the others with this nice plaid pattern. The best part about this coat is that it is the most affordable out of the rest. I purchased this coat on sale for $27 at
Forever 21! And yes, it actually keeps me fairly warm which is great.
