Polka Dots & Whatnots

I haven't been able to travel too much this Summer but I do love being able to go visit my friends when I get the chance to. This past week I went down to Richmond to visit some of my friends and had the best time! Our first stop was the art museum there because my friend told me they were having an exhibit for Yves Saint Laurent. Yep YSL's clothes were there! It was so awesome to see all the designs created by him and being able to see all the details on the items was amazing. Here are some photos from the exhibit...

Afterwards, we went to eat pizza (obviously) and did a bit of shopping. Richmond has some super cool local boutiques and vintage shops that we had a ton of fun looking over. Of course while doing all of this, I wore a fun little outfit. Polka dots have been a big trend lately and they have been coming out in so many styles! I decided to wear a look that had some slight vintage vibes to it. Dina, my close friend and amazing photographer took these photos and you can check out her website by clicking here. It was definitely a fun time and I can't wait to be able to go back!

Fun Florals

Hey gals! I hope you're all doing well. Today will be a bit of an exciting post for me because I had the opportunity to watch a preview of the new movie Ingrid Goes West. It will be out in theaters August 11th. This movie is about a girl whose mother passed away. She wanted to start fresh so she decided to move to LA. She has always been obsessed with social media particularly Instagram and it is basically about how social media started to take over her life in an insane way. I definitely recommend this movie to all of you who are Insta lovers such as myself and love comedies with a twist!

As for my outfit for this night, I decided to dress up a bit in this floral maxi skirt from Francesca's. I love this skirt because of the fun ruffles on it as well as the small slit at the front. Since I only wear skirts below the knees, this was perfect. Since the skirt was already a statement piece, I decided to wear a simple blouse on top. And guys, this blouse was only like $12! Definitely a good steal. For accessories, I wore my lace up sandals, my Tory Burch crossbody and this cute Y-Necklace.

My outfit photos were taken by my great friend Helena Tewolde and you can click here to check out her amazing website!

Lynn Louisa

I love scouting out local boutiques in the area because supporting local businesses is one of the most important things that you can do. Most of the products are created right here in America and you are not always feeding money to a huge corporation. You know exactly where your money is going. I was kindly reached our by a local boutique in Washington D.C. called Lynn Louisa to try on some pieces and create fun outfit posts for you all. What I loved about this boutique was the layout. It is very spacious but also creatively places the items around the store. This boutique sells clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry. You can basically create your whole outfit from here which is the greatest part!

As for pricing, I would compare the pricing to a Nordstrom but the items definitely have a more unique feel to them. I decided to try on 2 clothing items including a dress and a blouse. Click here to check out Lynn Louisa's website!

Dancin' in Stripes

Hey gals! I am so sorry for my delayed blog posts. I have just been super busy with work and getting school stuff out of the way which is always a first priority for me. I am back with this super fun post with this gorgeous striped maxi skirt. Before I started blogging, I would look at other bloggers and Youtubers for my fashion inspiration. Ever since I was 13 (almost 22 now) I knew I wanted to create a page dedicated to fashion. However, at the time I was too afraid of what others would think of my page so I never created it. Looking at other bloggers pursuing their passions was what really drove me to finally create my own. To this day I am still always looking for new bloggers to follow and get inspiration from and one that I stumbled upon a few months ago is Julia Engel who is the owner of galmeetsglam.com. She is the definition of a classy yet stylish gal!

I stumbled upon a post of her wearing a very similar skirt to the one I'm wearing here. I was instantly inspired by this look because I am a modest blogger and maxi skirts have become my best friend over the years. I could not find a similar skirt to the one she was wearing online so I turned to Poshmark. Poshmark is a reselling website where you can sell your lightly used clothing, shoes and accessories. I decided to search up "striped maxi skirt" and to my surprise, this one popped up! It is a great place to find some good dupes for pieces that may be a bit more unique.

I styled my outfit with some very simple pieces so that the skirt would be stand out more. I wore this cute ruffled tee shirt and a fun straw hat and bag to make the outfit a bit more summery. (not sure if that's a word but we'll go with it). My great friend Clayton took these awesome photos and he actually has a clothing brand called Bold Apex which you should definitely check out by clicking here! I hope you guys love this look!

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everybody! I hope you all have an amazing day with your friends and family. This post will be a bit of a short one as I will mainly just be talking about my outfit details. Everyone always has a basic idea of what they want to wear to celebrate the 4th because of the 3 main colors, red, white and blue. With these colors, you can make endless outfit decisions. Some wear dresses, some wear simple shirts with the American flag on it and others wear a cute blouse with jeans and sandals. It all depends on where you will be and of course the weather as well. As for my outfit, I wanted to go with something a bit more fancy. That is why I opted for this red cold shoulder blouse from ASOS. I feel that it is hitting all the major trends right now including the ruffles, the shoulder cuts and the peplum bottom. I wanted to tie in some white with this look to make it a bit more festive so I decided to wear these white jeans with it.

What I love about this look in particular is that it isn't only a look that you can wear on the 4th, but it can be worn on any day of the year. This blouse can easily be worn with a skirt for a date night and the jeans can be worn with just about anything else in your closet. I wanted to spice up the look with some accessories which is why I went for these triple hoop earrings. Huge statement earrings are an awesome trend right now and I am all for it. Accessories can make your look go from super casual to something fun and fancy. I kept it simple with shoes and wore my nude block heels. Details are all linked down below!
